Between 220-240 members of the band are brass and woodwind players.

Auditions at the summer UDMB Orientation day is required for those wishing to become part of these sections.

The percussion sections consist of a large corps–sized battery (7–9 snares, 4–5 tenors, 6 bass, 12–14 cymbals) and a full front ensemble (14 percussion, bass guitar).

Auditions for placement in this section occurs the first two days of Band Camp.

The colorguard consists of 36 – 42 members utilizing flags, rifles and sabers, as well as non-traditional equipment.

The Golden Girls are highly advanced twirlers who must use 2 batons (3 are preferred).

Auditions for placement in these sections occurs each spring.
